- Public transport in York, Brighton and Stoke-on-Trent is around twice as costly as in Graz in Austria and Terni in Italy.
- Bath and Brighton have the highest car modal shares after Terni, although both cities perform well on public transport use.
- Car ownership in Bath is at a mid-ranking level amongst same size areas overseas with York, Brighton and Hove and Stoke-on-Trent amongst the lowest - although ownership has risen by 33% in York over the last ten years.
- Brighton and Hove has the largest number of parking spaces, almost twice those in Bath and five times as many in Umea in Sweden. The highest parking charges can be found in Bath and York.
- We have a smaller supply of roads in the UK - Oulu in Finland has triple the amount that Brighton has (7628 metres per 1000 population compared to 2,330).
- Cambridge has amongst the lowest public transport, but amongst the highest walking and cycling modal shares.
- York has the highest proportion of low floor buses compared to same size areas.
- Portsmouth has the second lowest fatality rate with deaths falling rapidly in Stoke and Bath through the 1990s.
